GWANJU WORLD CUP STADIUM

The Gwanju World Cup Stadium is made in the image of Gwangju, the region of light. It was designed to emit a powerful light. The roof looks like the smooth mountain ridge of Mudeungsan, which is located nearby. The roof and columns look like the shape of 'go' (knot-shaped rope) in Gwangju's traditional nori (game) 'gossaum'. The east and west roofs face each other.
The stadium has a seating capacity of 42,880.
