SEODAEMUN PRISON
Seodaemun Prison was built by impressed labor during the Japanses
occupation. It reflects the sadness felt by Koreans during the turbulent
times that lasted over 80 years. Many Korean patriots were impeisoned
there.The prison is1,584m in area and once held 500 prisoners. In
November,1987,the pison was moved to Uiwang \,Gyeonggi-do,and renamed
the "Seoul Detention House".The prison exemplifies the
many ordals of the Korean people.In 1992,it was born agin as Seodaemun
Independence Park.
